Following the recent passage of the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the budget resolution in the Senate, ACTION is working to convey the urgent need for Congress to include the Housing Credit in the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation package. As a part of this effort, ACTION is asking its members to contact their Representatives, requesting that they sign on to a letter being led by Reps. Suzan DelBene (D-WA) and Don Beyer (D-VA) in support of including the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act (AHCIA) in the Democrat-only reconciliation package.
The deadline for Representatives to sign on to the letter and support the AHCIA was extended to this Friday, August 20. Share and ask your Representative to sign the Dear Colleague today.
As of August 17, the letter has 86 signatures. Help ACTION achieve its goal of recruiting 100 Members of Congress to sign on by Friday! The letter is open to all Members of the House regardless of whether they are current cosponsors of H.R. 2573. While there is very strong bipartisan support for the AHCIA, it should be noted that we expect only House Democrats to sign this letter, as it is focused on reconciliation.
To guide your outreach, see the list of Representatives who have already signed on and list of targets who have not yet signed.
Please contact Ayrianne Parks (aparks@enterprisecommunity.org) with any questions about the letter or Krista D’Alessandro (kdalessandro@enterprisecommunity.org) if you need contact information for your representative’s office.
