Today, the ACTION Campaign released the first tranche of a three-part video series detailing the provisions of the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act (AHCIA) of 2021 (S. 1136 & H.R. 2573). In these videos, Enterprise Community Partners (Enterprise) Senior Director of Public Policy Ayrianne Parks and National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) Director of Tax and Housing Advocacy Jennifer Schwartz provide an overview of each of the legislation’s specific provisions. Enterprise and NCSHA serve as co-directors of the ACTION Campaign.
The first videos released in the series include:

Expanding the 9 Percent Housing Credit (Section 101);

Lowering the Bond Financing Threshold to 25 Percent (Section 313);

The 30 Percent Basis Boosts for Native American and Rural Areas (Sections 402 and 501, Respectively);

The 50 Percent Basis Boost for Extremely Low-Income Households (Section 307);
-
Prohibition of Local Approval and Contribution Requirements (Section 306); and
-
Housing Credit Compatibility with Energy Tax Incentives (Section 309).
Parts two and three of the video series, which will detail the remaining provisions of the legislation, will be released in the coming weeks. Advocates are encouraged to share these videos with their networks and use them to prepare for meetings with members of Congress to advocate for the AHCIA. Check out the ACTION video series here.
