ACTION Mourns the Loss of Housing Credit Champion Congresswoman Jackie Walorski

The ACTION Campaign mourns the tragic death of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (R-IN-2). The Congresswoman and two of her staff,  Emma Thomson and Zach Potts, were killed in a car accident yesterday afternoon.

Congresswoman Walorski was a true champion for the Housing Credit, cosponsoring the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act (AHCIA) since it was first introduced in the 115th Congress. In the current 117th Congress, she became the lead House Republican sponsor of the AHCIA, working with the ACTION Campaign to expand and strengthen the program and grow its congressional support, including among her peers on the House Ways and Means Committee.

It is a devastating loss and we offer our sincerest condolences to the Congresswoman’s family, the families of the other victims, and her staff.
