Today, the ACTION Campaign is excited to announce the official launch of our new look and updated website. Advocates and ACTION members can expect to find our previous advocacy materials, all with our new branding. The new website will allow more flexibility for our members to navigate and see the most important advocacy actions and resources!
As many of you know, this process began this past spring. During that time, ACTION conducted stakeholder interviews with a number of members and partners, soliciting feedback and working to improve the way we share the data and message the Housing Credit and its impact.
This refresh comes at a critical point in our advocacy to secure important policies to strengthen and expand the Housing Credit, providing a great opportunity to bring new visibility to our work together. Our hope is that this website facilitates easier and more effective engagement with Members of Congress, so that we can continue to move our Housing Credit priorities forward.
We want to thank our members and partners who provided feedback, as well as Hamilton Place Strategies, for helping create our new logo and look, and OnWrd & UpWrd, for building the new website and critical strategic advice on content and resources to connect us with stakeholders.
Advocate for the Housing Credit with New ACTION Resources & Materials
On November 3, the House Rules Committee released new text for the Build Back Better Act in a manager’s amendment, which added in several Housing Credit provisions, detailed in our previous ACTION member bulletin. That Friday, November 5, the House took a pivotal step in advancing the legislation, including ACTION’s Housing Credit policy priorities, by passing a procedural vote on the rule governing debate on Build Back Better in a vote of 221 to 213.
Legislators will continue their work to pass a final Build Back Better package when they return from recess on November 15. While this is progress, there will be several more steps along the way to passage, which means Housing Credit advocates must keep the pressure on to keep our priorities in the final package.
We encourage members and Housing Credit stakeholders to keep up outreach to the House, as well as connect with the Senate to underscore the importance of those investments in Housing Credit production proposed last week, encouraging legislators to weigh in with Senate leadership and the White House. Please take advantage of the updated advocacy resources and materials on our new website to help ensure our key Housing Credit provisions remain front-and-center as negotiations continue.
Check out ACTION’s Advocacy Resources page to find useful advocacy information and background materials on the Housing Credit, infographics to share on social media such as the one pictured below, as well as National, State, and District Fact Sheets, which include the latest data on the Housing Credit’s impact where you live. Also, be sure to keep up with ACTION’s Blog for the latest on the current legislative state of play and specific calls to action!
